Seed Companies Prepare for the 2009 Launch of LibertyLink Soybeans
To ramp up its preparation for the 2009 launch of LibertyLink soybeans, the Herbicide Tolerant Trait Team recently hosted four regional meetings with seed companies.
With the recent nod from the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture, LibertyLink soybeans are right on track for an anticipated 2009 launch.
“We had a simple goal for these meetings: demonstrate our support in helping the seed companies develop their LibertyLink business plan,” said Andy Hurst, Product Manager, Ignite and Herbicide Tolerant Traits. “With the approximately 40 seed company representatives attending in each location, we reviewed the LibertyLink Soybean Marketing Program and product positioning, as well as the communication plans for mass media, public relations, and local promotion.”
One participant said after the meeting, “If I'd have known it was going to be this good, I'd have signed up more acres. What I have now will be gone quickly, I can see that."
Seed Treatment and Technology Representative David Case summed up his experience, “I heard nothing but positives about the meeting content including the marketing and communications programs.”
